Another lick and he paired it with a single finger thrust inside her. “Proof you’ve done one of the most badass things a woman can do.”
“That’s a little limiting, don’t you think?” she breathed. She dug her hands into the blankets under her. She needed to ground herself.
Another lick, another stroke, and she arched into his hand. Hooded eyes watched her.
“For someone else. For you? You brought our girl into this world.” He mouthed his way down her hips. “Sexy badass can do whatever she wants now.”
Her body felt on fire. Pressure built in her middle as he added a second finger to the first. Then, with her skin crackling with energy and a low hum in his chest, he licked her.
He sucked on her clit, swiping his tongue against her. His fingers stroked into her still. Heat rolled through her from the unrelenting rhythm of hands and mouth combined. More slickness, more groans, he devoured her with his eyes and his touch.
Noelle stuffed a hand against her mouth to hold back the cries spilling from her lips. Too good. Too much. Her breath blew from her chest in harsh, needy pants. He worked her body like she was made for him, until her release burst out of her with the force of the years denied.
He tensed, mouth and fingers still stringing her along. A growl rumbled out of him and vibrated through her, yanking another orgasm from her before he let her tumble into a pool of bliss.
He had her undivided attention when he pushed to his feet.
Noelle zeroed in on his hands at his zipper. Her tongue darted out to lick her lower lip the moment he pushed the denim off his hips.
“You tasted so fucking good, gorgeous.” Jensen palmed his cock, stroking his weeping shaft. “Bet you’ll feel even better. That what you want now? To feel me sliding deep inside you?”
She didn’t trust her voice to work. Instead. she caught her lip between her teeth in a picture of innocence and nodded.
His knee hit the bed, and she sat up to meet him. Noelle smoothed her hands over his hard chest as he pressed her back against the comforter. She cupped a hand against his cheek, fingers stroking over his skin. She needed his touch and she needed to memorize his face in that moment. He clouded up her mind and pressed against all corners of her existence.
He felt big. Important. The father of her child.
“Noelle,” he growled, nipping at her skin.
And about to give her another night of pleasure.
One night changed the course of her life. The weight of him over her felt familiar. Felt right.
He dragged his nose up her neck, inhaling sharply. The blunt head of his cock settled at her entrance, barely parting her. His arms shook, but he held himself back. “Want you so bad.”
“Need you,” she whispered against his lips.

Jensen tried to slow himself. Tried to keep hold and make every second about her. But the heat of her eyes and the fire wafting off her naked skin were his undoing. He pressed himself inside her in one smooth thrust. Clawed fingers dug into the comforter next to her head as her body rippled and adjusted to him.
She panted underneath him, teeth catching her lower lip until he swooped in and licked it himself. Then that wasn’t enough, and he claimed her mouth in another devouring kiss as her body hugged him tight.
Fucking hell, she was perfect. Breasts that spilled over his cupped hands, slightly rounded stomach with those sexy marks lining her skin. Hips made for holding, and he aimed to do so when he fucked her from behind and watched her ass bounce. No wonder she’d haunted his dreams. He wanted to possess her every way possible.
Noelle gasped as he pulled back, then surged forward again. Her gasp turned to a breathy moan, air rushing past his ear.
Again. He dragged himself back. Slow retreat, hard thrust forward.
She met him blow for blow. Green eyes turned glassy as his rhythm picked up pace. He couldn’t hold back with his wolf pressing against him from the inside and her pressing on his outsides. He wanted... more. More of her. A better hold on her. One that imprinted on her and lasted a lifetime.
That was how it worked, wasn’t it? His wolf howled in his head. Right place, right time. Back then wasn’t it for them, though she’d lingered on in his memory long after he left Redwater in the dust.
Now, though? Now, she was everything. He could feel her taking over his every thought, his every cell. His world shifted and put her at the center. She was the bright, shining sun rising on the horizon.
She clenched at him with every slam and slide of his cock. Skin slapped against skin. Her head lolled from side to side and she dragged her nails down his back.
Jensen reared back with a pleased hiss. “That’s it, gorgeous. Mark me up. Make me yours.”
More. More. He needed her every way.
He dragged himself out and flipped her around, hooking an arm around her waist to keep her on her knees. Then he grabbed her hips and slammed into her, his guttural groan sounding loud in his ears.
Jensen tangled a hand in her hair, arching her back. Not enough. He wanted to touch her everywhere all at once.
His hand slid from her hair and around to her breasts. Jensen cupped one, holding onto her hip with his other hand. He pinched and rolled her nipple between his fingers and groaned when her inner muscles tightened around the drive and drag of his cock.
Her soft moans grew louder as her release built inside her. More flutters, more red coloring her skin. Skies above, she was gorgeous.
“Jensen!”
Her voice was high and reedy. Part cry, part plea, and all for him.
He pulled her up against him, one arm locked around her waist and the other around her mouth. Noisy woman. He growled with proud pleasure at dragging those sounds from her throat.
He wanted to let her scream, but he wanted her for the rest of the night even more. Waking their little pup in the other room would cut the night short.
Their pup. Fuck, he liked the sound of that.
Bite. Mark.
Jensen laid his teeth against her skin.
Mate.
The first prick of blood hit his tongue, and he reared back.
No. Not yet. Not until he had his world in order and she wanted him for more than a night.
But what a fucking night it’d be.
He skimmed his hand from her waist and down between her legs. “Come for me, gorgeous,” he ordered.
She choked on a long, low moan.
He pressed his fingers to her clit in smooth circles, not letting up the pressure for a moment. Her sweet scent filled his nose, thick and delicious and winding him up. Fur brushed against his mind; his wolf panted and paced through his head.
“Come, Noelle.”
Her breath quickened. Her heart pounded in his ears. He rocked into her harder than before, still circling her clit with his fingers, until she tensed and throbbed around him.
“Fuck,” he ground out on a hiss. Heat spread through his body, centering in the base of his spine. He surged into her again, hips jerking, holding deep inside her as his release ripped through him.
Jensen collapsed over her. His chest pressed against her back, and then they both fell to the bed. He rolled to his side and dragged her against him.
“Fuck, Noelle.” He nuzzled a cheek against her back. That mark of his scent against her skin would need to be enough.
“Yeah,” she laughed softly.
Her wiggle to roll over and face him had him hardening all over again. So did the flush over her cheeks.
Perfect. Gorgeous.
He needed to make up for all the time he missed. Not anyone’s fault but fate, yet those missed years still tore at him. Helping Sienna get her paws under her was a start, but it’d also given him ideas about the future.
Maybe he could stick around for more than a few days or weeks. Maybe he could watch her grow up. The little pup was cute and her mother was hot as fuck.
Maybe this was where he was supposed to have been all those years that he felt caged under Viho’s ru
le.
He’d given up his former life and the remnants of his former pack for two people he barely knew. Those losses didn’t even begin to prick the potential pain of losing Noelle or Sienna over some bullshit pack disagreement.
She told him he had to earn the right to be Sienna’s father.
They were his, they just didn’t understand it yet. He’d care for them for the rest of his life.
Chapter 10
Jensen dragged his fingers up and down Noelle’s arm. She sprawled across his chest, hair tickling his skin. The sun hadn’t yet touched the sky, but he was wide awake. Had been all night. Between listening for any threats and bringing Noelle to climax again and again, he’d kept his vigil.
“Favorite breakfast?”
After the last collapse against each other, she’d fired off random questions at him. He returned hers with his own. Their path had started at the opposite end than most, and he took pleasure in finding his way back to the beginning. He wanted to know everything about her.
“Mmm. Anything in bed.” Noelle stretched her arms and legs, then curled back against his chest. “What about you?”
“Whatever is left in the bottle from the night before.”
“Ugh, my liver aches for yours,” she giggled.
“Cold pizza and whiskey will never be topped by a home cooked meal.”
“Now you’re just lying. You scarfed down enough last night for ten people.”
“Knew I’d have to keep up my energy.” His lips stretched in a pleased grin.
She laughed softly and swatted his chest. “Confident, aren’t you? I should have left you on the porch.”
He rolled her over in a flash, holding her hands above her head. He trailed a hot kiss down her neck, consuming the scent of her and him together. “Like you could resist. I saw you shooting those fuck me eyes my way.”
“I did not,” she protested weakly.
“You did.” Jensen grazed his teeth over a nipple, then rolled his eyes to her face. “Admit you wanted to fuck me since you laid eyes on me.”
Her lashes shaded her green eyes and her heart pounded a loud beat. Her lower lip trembled slightly before she pushed out her words in a sultry tone. “Or what?”
Jensen dipped his head again and lashed her stiff peak with his tongue. “Or I make you beg to let you come.”
Noelle shot a quick glance to the clock on her nightstand, and he knew it was time.
He contained his frustrated growl and shoved aside concern for his aching balls. She had a life with responsibilities. She couldn’t stay naked with him all day, much as he wanted.
He waited a split second. No rising growl from his wolf over perceived cages. No itching urge to get on the road and leave Redwater behind. She had his inner beast utterly leashed and attentive.
Jensen laid a lingering, soft kiss on her lips. “I should go,” he said, then kissed her again.
Fuck, he didn’t want to leave the bed. He didn’t want to leave her. His wolf paced through his head, urging him to stick close to the female. She belonged to him, now. There was no reason to leave.
“I don’t want to cause you any grief with Sienna.”
Her expression shuttered and her scent soured. “You’re right. This didn’t change anything.”
He caught her chin between his fingers and turned her face back to him. “Not yet. You told me I need to earn the right to be here. I’m going to do that.”
Starting with making her and Sienna safe.
She lifted her chin and met his look. Seriousness danced in the green depths. “Good.”
As soon as she disappeared into her bathroom and turned on the shower, Jensen threw himself into his clothes. He hooked his fingers in the heels of his boots and padded out of the house.
Once outside, the pleasure of the night melted away from him. His wolf stood on alert, pacing through his head and sifting through his senses. No new scents met his nose. No shadowy figures strayed in his sights.
That didn’t change the fact that Noelle had been watched. The Slayers wanted him out of town, but that didn’t excuse going after an innocent woman.
He couldn’t dog after her all day without attracting notice. Besides, he had to put in the work to make sure her stalkers backed the fuck off.
He just couldn’t be in two places at once. And unless Jughead and the rest of the fuckwits wanted to have a meet on the damn playground, he doubted he could keep an eye on his girls.
Jensen growled and his wolf echoed his frustration. He needed a pack for this shit. Someone to watch his back and guard his female when he needed to focus on a threat. Viho corrupted the rest of the Vagabonds and poisoned what it meant to be brothers.
Going back to the splinter group felt wrong. Bryce wouldn’t help. He doubted he could count on Rocco, Dillon, or Lars, either. Fuckers were cut from the same damn cloth as Bryce—full of anger and a desire to fuck shit up. They’d be as likely to turn a blind eye on any Slayers tracking his female than to protect her.
He finished lacing up his boots and cocked his head at the house coming alive behind him. Quietly, he eased his bike out of the driveway and further down the road. He kept watch until he saw Noelle load Sienna into her car and drive off.
His wolf prowled through him. Protect his girls held too much meaning and interpretation. Did he follow along and sit outside the school? Or did he track down the Slayers?
Maybe Wyatt or Ellis would help. They hadn’t seemed as keen on Bryce’s war with the Slayers when Jensen last met up with them.
Jensen dug out his phone from his pocket and punched in a number. The man didn’t answer on the first call, so he tried again.
On the fourth ring of the third call, Ellis answered with a sound somewhere between a grumble and a word.
Jensen eyed the sky and wondered how long the man had been asleep. He didn’t feel the slightest bit guilty. “Ellis, I have a favor to ask. You got a pen? I need you somewhere today.”
“What will I find there?” Ellis asked through his yawn.
“My pup and my mate.”
Ellis’s silence was heavy with reluctance. “I’ll do it,” he said finally. “But only if you talk to the rest of the guys.”
Jensen swore. “I don’t have anything else to say to them.”
“You need to talk them off the ledge, man. When me and Wyatt left last night, they were drinking themselves into courageous asshattery. They’re going to do something stupid.”
Fucking hell. He would kill them all if their bullshit with the Slayers prompted Jughead to threaten Noelle even more. “I didn’t ask for anyone to—”
“We left because of you.”
The words punched Jensen in the gut, but Ellis wasn’t done shocking him into silence.
“You should have been the pack’s second. Maybe Viho wouldn’t have made the dumb fuck mistakes if he had someone like you to listen to. Or maybe it’d have ended the same way. I don’t know. I’m not a thinker. But you are. You can make the hard choices to fix shit or walk away when it’s too broken. We needed a way out. You gave it to us.”
“I never wanted to be second. I never wanted to be anyone’s alpha.” Jensen scrubbed a hand down his face.
He didn’t want to be the one everyone looked to for answers. He wasn’t made to be that person. His own father knew it.
Still didn’t change the fact that those wolves followed him out of the Vagabonds. And now their actions were threatening his mate and pup.
Bryce had to keep his cool. Poking the bear—or rival club—would spark more aggression. He’d ridden into town with the men; he didn’t want more trouble spilling over to Noelle and Sienna because of it.
“Fine,” he growled. “Set the meet and I’ll talk to them. But Ellis?”
“Yeah?”
“This is the last I hear of them if they go a different way. We all left. We all make our own choices now.”
He chose Noelle and Sienna.

Four pairs of eyes looked
up as soon as Jensen barged through the door of the makeshift clubhouse in the back of the liquor store. Cards and chips already littered the table. Beer bottles cluttered the remaining space.
“This looks cozy,” he said flatly. He wanted to get this over with. He had a little girl and wolf lessons to get to and only words of warning for the men in the room.
Quiet fell over the chatting wolves. The sickly sweet scent of madness clogged up his nose. They all hadn’t escaped Viho’s death-madness.
“You know us. We make a home wherever we stop for the night.” Bryce laid his cards down with a snap.
The man looked ready to tear into anything that moved. Jensen’s inner wolf snarled at the danger pulsing from him.
Jensen blinked and looked away dismissively. “I don’t know why you’re still holed up in this shitheap, Bryce. You and the others should move on.”
“Lemme stop you right there,” Bryce growled, shoving to his feet. “You don’t get to come in here with any bullshit nuggets of wisdom after you walked out on us.”
He smelled like he’d taken a bath in booze. Wild, bleary eyes couldn’t seem to focus, but he had the attention of the others. Only Ellis and Wyatt were missing. Jensen knew exactly where Ellis was. Wyatt was still a mystery.
Four, though. Small space. Jensen added the owner of the liquor store to his calculations for good measure. Tough fight ahead, if it came to blows.
He shrugged and went on as if he hadn’t heard Bryce. “This business with the Slayers needs to end. They’re drawing innocent people into the mess, now.”
“Fuck ‘em,” Bryce sneered. “Weakness needs to get culled. This town has had it easy.”
Jensen’s wolf shoved forward and flashed sendings of the man with his throat ripped out. Noelle and Sienna weren’t to be so easily dismissed.
“End it,” he snarled. “No more picking them off. Pack up and ride out.”
His fists tightened with a crack of his knuckles. He wanted the brawl. It’d been days since he fought someone. The remembered scent of Noelle’s fear sparked anger in his blood.
“We’re not yours to command,” Bryce growled. The others nodded agreement. “That’s what you wanted, ain’t it? We’re not your pack.”
